After the last few difficult days we've had between my grandpa's surgery, the kids being sick (Riley with an awful stomach bug and Naomi with congestion and difficulty breathing), and the resulting lack of sleep we are all feeling the effects of...we decided we all needed a little dose of fun. So we packed up the family this morning and went around the corner to the Green Acres pumpkin patch to each pick out a pumpkin. We were debating going up to the last minute because Riley had gotten sick again this morning, but once we went we were so glad to be doing something fun together out in the crisp fall air as a family. It certainly helped get our minds off of things, and even though it was a quick trip, it was a much needed one! Here are a few photos from our refreshing escape from reality :).
