It is good to be home because everyone knows home is where the heart is, but it's also true that absence makes the heart grow fonder, and we definitely needed this time away. We had so much fun just hanging out with so many people we miss and care so much about. Riley and Naomi both had a fabulous time playing with all our friend's kids. It's hard to believe our group of friends down there was basically childless less than 4 years ago and now there are close to a dozen kids running around! We ate enough food to last us a good week. I probably won't be able to eat a full meal for several days because I have felt perpetually full for the last 36 hours. We were able to enjoy unseasonably warm temperatures and even several extended cameo appearances of the sun! It was also so great for us to spend time together as a family unit, traveling together, eating meals together, playing together, and just being together. It is good to be home now and know that we still have a few days left before Brad has to go back to work. We plan to do absolutely nothing tomorrow (how wonderful does that sound?!) and then work more on our kitchen Friday (grout and trim). Here are a few photos from the trip. It really is amazing to watch how your friends change as you go through life together, isn't it? One day, you are all single, care-free, and able to do most anything at a moment's notice. Fast forward several years and suddenly your crowd is married and has a few kids...each.
How did we get to this place? Don't get me wrong, I love the transition and wouldn't have it any other way, but weren't we all single not that long ago?
