Today was a very special day at our church. We have been planning and waiting for a long time to finally break ground on our new building. Our church has grown so much in the last several years that we have been at 3 services for awhile now on Sunday mornings. Rather than purchase a new building or move somewhere new, we decided to build on the land we already own. It will be a 4 million+ dollar project, that the members of the church have committed to giving last fall when the process began. This morning, we all gathered out in the area that will be the new sanctuary and were even joined by Mayor Duffy for the big dig! The outline of the new building was sketched out on the lawn, so everyone lined up around the border and got to start digging! It is so exciting to be a part of this growth at a church that has been so special to us for so many years. But even though we are excited to see this new physical building go up, we are even more excited that God has built up his church of living stones at North (1 Peter 2:5). We are certain God brought us back here to be a part of this and we are thankful!

I'm so excited I got to see your blog and my Dad's piis on facebook to feel like I was there in spirit - how exciting! I can't wait to visit after the building is up!
